Bar chart comparing website speed and performance: highlighting the significant gap between the ideal load time and the actual performance of web pages for user engagement.

Performance Score

The Performance Score tells you how well your page performs from a user perspective.

This score is made up of 3 key metrics with the following weights:

Each metric is measured and calculated as a score, then compared to a threshold, and the aggregate result (with the appropriate weighting) makes up the final Performance Score.

Page Load Speed

Site speed is measured with the estimate of Total Blocking Time (TBT), which is a Lighthouse Performance metric introduced in 2020 that quantifies your page’s load responsiveness to user input.
In the simplest terms, TBT measures the total amount of time your webpage was blocked, preventing the user from interacting with your page.

Site Health Score

Google Expects Technical Best Practices!!!

Low score may indicate issues like broken links, poor site structure, or slow loading times, which can affect search engine visibility

Prevent your website from the following issues:

Server and Hosting Issues: Frequent downtime or slow server response times can affect site health and search engine ranking.

Poor User Engagement: If users quickly leave your site (high bounce rate) or don’t engage with its content, Google may interpret this as a sign that your site isn’t meeting user expectations.

Security Concerns: Security is a top priority for Google. A low health score may suggest that your website has security vulnerabilities, such as outdated software or inadequate protection against malware or hacking.

Ineffective SEO: A low health score can imply that your site’s SEO strategy is lacking or outdated, leading to lower visibility in search results. Learn more here how every Website Maintenance Plan is set up for SEO Readiness.

Technical Issues: Google expects websites to adhere to technical best practices. A low score may indicate issues like broken links, poor site structure, or slow loading times, which can affect search engine visibility.
